The Warden of the Web Stock Room is complete!
We custom built this room to be clean and bright for working with tarantulas. Bright white floors are mirrored by bright white ceiling tiles. The walls are a natural bright wood slat board. This room has its own circuit in the breaker box. We just use a few LED lights and a small, safe space heater in the winter.
The overhead lights are comprised of bright economic LED bars for plenty of visibility while packing, feeding or rehousing. Any convict that tries to make a run for it is easily spotted in this bright room!
We can turn off the overhead lights and soften the room with just the warm glow of rope LED lights and a few LED grow lights just for the enclosures sporting live plants for their inhabitants.
The drop ceiling tiles hide a very special surprise. LED billboard lights have been strung in the rafters above the ceiling and are diffused just enough to have all the ambiance of the Northern lights if so
desired.
The custom 72” poured epoxy and cedar packing table adds a charming flare to the end of the room. Lined with microscopes for viewing the smallest exoskeleton molts, and a bountiful tray of various tweezers and tongs for feeding, this table is functional and comfortable as everything needed is right at hand.
Let us not forget the cell door. We couldn’t resist adding cast iron hardware and a barred speak-easy window on the door. Just in case anyone wants to come chat while a rehousing is being conducted; we
can chat through the speak-easy until all tarantulas are safely secured in their enclosures.
Function and comfort for both us and the eight-legged inhabitants has been achieved in this room.
